Covid-19
Del Valle ISD continues to monitor local, state, and national guidance when making decisions on Covid-19 protocols and procedures.
Here are strategies DVISD will implement for SY 22-23, based on guidelines from Austin Public Health:
-
While the district is not currently requiring masks we will continue to support all students, staff, families and visitors' decisions to mask.
-
Encourage those who were recently exposed to COVID-19, had COVID-19 or have symptoms to wear a mask for the period of time recommended by the Center for Disease Control (CDC). Currently, it is up to ten days after testing positive or exposure.
-
Encourage the adherence to the isolation guidance for people who have symptoms or have tested positive for COVID-19. Currently, it is to isolate for five days after testing positive or when symptoms began.
-
Send out campus notifications when staff/students that were on campus within the past 5 days test positive for COVID-19.
-
Report positive cases to Austin Public Health.
-
Provide COVID 19 antigen testing to students and staff on all campuses- consent form is needed for all students under 18 years old.
-
Promote COVID -19 vaccinations and provide information as requested.
-
Clean surfaces daily and disinfect all areas.
-
Promote hand washing, covering cough and sneezes among all students and staff.
-
Encourage all students and staff to stay home when sick and see their medical provider as needed.
