DVISD Librarian Mission Statement:
To create a multi-literate culture of independent readers and digital citizens who learn through information, inquiry, and imagination. 

DVISD Librarians Vision:
To empower our students to become independent, life long critical readers and ethically engaged digital citizens. 

Hollie Jenkins, Librarian:
Ms. Jenkins incorporates the DVISD Librarians' mission and vision while serving Gilbert Elementary's students, families, and staff.  Before she was a school librarian she was a middle school Language Arts teacher and a library assistant at UT Libraries and Austin Public Library. She lives in East Austin with her husband, two children, and cats. Ms. Jenkins loves books, but she loves kids and service even more.
